Almost every summer, I create this goals – things that I want to accomplish with all of the free time I’ll have over the next three months. I never complete these goals. And I make them annually, fully aware of this fact. Last year, I wanted to learn to speak Italian and play the guitar. I am currently able to do neither of the two.
This year, however, I’m making it easier on myself.
This summer, I want to read.
I want to read that stack of books that’s been piling up on my desk and in my mind. I want to get the chance to sit down with the books that I’ve been struggling to find the time to enjoy during the school year. Also, I want to read plays. I want to read lots of play. All sorts of plays.
So, obviously, I must ask:
Will you recommend things for me to read?
Of course you will.
Go.

Atonement by Ian McEwan is good.
If you’re looking for variety, the Narnia books are good short ones. But probably not, so I think you’d like Atonement.
